CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) - The College of Idaho has chosen former NFL quarterback and longtime UC Davis assistant Mike Moroski to prepare the college's newly reinstated football program to begin competing in the fall of 2014 as a member of the NAIA's Frontier Conference.
Moroski helped lead the Aggies to eight NCAA Division II postseason appearances during 17 years as offensive coordinator and most recently served as the football program's assistant head coach. UC Davis is a member of the Big Sky Conference of the Football Championship Subdivision.
Moroski says he's honored and excited to help build an elite and competitive program at the College of Idaho.
Athletic director Marty Holly said Wednesday that Moroski has a passion for coaching and mentoring athletes.
Moroski played at UC Davis and was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 1979. He also played for Houston and San Francisco before returning to UC Davis as a coach in 1988.
