Pasco, WA - Some big news today for the new Delta High School project.
Hanford contractor Washington River Protection Solutions presented a $150,000 check today to help pay for the new Delta High School facility. Dozens of Delta High students were on hand for today's event at CBC's Gjerde Center.
The state's STEM Education Foundation calls today's donation a solid investment in Washington's future.
"Making sure that we're building back and creating an environment where we're putting people in the workforce with the technical background is vital for my business and other businesses in the community," said Tom Yount, who serves as President of the Washington State STEM Education Foundation.
Delta High School will graduate their first class of seniors this spring. The school has found a site in west Pasco for their new campus. Now, they're working to raise about $16 Million in funding to build it.
