RICHLAND, Wash.-- Three teenage boys took it upon themselves to set up a bicycle motorcross, or BMX, event that happened Saturday at the Richland skate park.
It all started when they were looking for BMX events to go to and found that there weren't any locally so they took all the steps to create one on their own. They met with the city for the permit, which took months to get, and they also found sponsors.
One of the organizers, Kaden Beutler, says he hopes other will work towards having more BMX events locally.
"The Tri-Cities and the Northwest definitely needs more events like this. I hope more people see what we did and they just start doing it and everything starts to happen and we can keep going forward on this," says Beutler.
The boys are all between thirteen and fifteen-years-old and are all attending Chiawanna High School this coming fall.
