KENNEWICK, Wash. - Police
want you to spend 25 minutes talking to your kids about staying safe.
Officers will be at the Southridge
Sports Complex on Saturday, as part of National Missing Children's Day.
Police will pass
out copies of "25 Ways to Make Kids Safer."
Blatman, crime prevention officer, says the pamphlet will help parents have
that frank talk with their kids.
"It's important to
take those couple of minutes to sit and talk with your children, explain to
them things to do," Blatman says. "And
not make it just one day. It's a constant reminder."
On Saturday, children can join the My ID Club, and receive their own ID safety
card. Police SWAT equipment and fire fighting vehicles will also be at the
sports complex along with the DARE music machine.
