KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Benton-Franklin SWAT Team was in action in Kennewick Thursday night. Two men wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Moses Lake were arrested.
Back on August 8th, 24-year-old Alberto Serrato, of Moses Lake and 21-year-old Juan Garcia, of Soap Lake, held a man at gunpoint during a robbery. Police were searching for them until Thursday when they were found at a house on West Fourth Avenue in Kennewick.
"We were dealing with some individuals who were known gang members, had been involved in an armed robbery," said Mike Blatman of the Kennewick Police Department. "There were other people inside the residence at that particular time and the decision was to call out the Benton Franklin Regional SWAT team."
Serrato left the house in Kennewick but was found and arrested in Pasco. He was booked for possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a firearm. Garcia refused to leave the residence at first but after a short standoff, he, too, was arrested.
Both face charges of first degree robbery and theft of a motor vehicle, among other unrelated charges.
