KENNEWICK, Wash. - Those familiar Sun Mart signs will change to Circle K's this fall. At least 27 stores between Wenatchee and Walla Walla.
Sun Pacific Energy is handing over the reigns to a majority of it's stores. Nine of the Sun Marts will remain as they are and the company will retain all of their wholesale-dealer locations and their agriculture and industrial businesses as well.
President Craig Eerkes said it's tough to let go of what he calls the company's babies. But he said it's in the best interest of both Sun Mart's customers and the employees... all of whom will keep their jobs.
"There's an initial shock, an initial surprise and then they understand some of the benefits and the merit that comes with a company of its size," said Eerkes.
Circle K operates under the Canadian Company, Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. The transaction is expected to be completed in November.
