KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Thousands of people will head to Columbia Park for the Water Follies this weekend, ready to have a good time.
When they get there, security will be at gates to greet them.
Security at this event will be handled by three groups of people. Volunteers, private companies, and local law enforcement.
Each group will have a large number of people on the ground to secure the event and make sure you have a good time.
"Mainly we're going to be looking at the main admission gates, we're going to be looking for people bringing in coolers, no alcohol into the park. It'll be a quick search for weapons, that kind of stuff," explains Nathan Carghill, security chair for the Water Follies.
Officials remind people if you're coming to Columbia Park this weekend, keep in mind that security will be checking bags at the entrance gate to make sure people aren't carrying any weapons or alcohol.
