NBCRightNow.com - Ballots are going out this week for the August 6th election which will include a proposal for Tri-City voters to approve a one-tenth of a cent sales tax increase to fund a new regional aquatic center.
Wednesday, the Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce officially endorsed the project saying it will be a positive addition to the community.
"This is a new step for the Tri-Cities to have a place that the entire Tri-Cities is funding. So, we're excited and pleased to see the collaboration and want to support that by all means," said Lori Mattson with the Tri-Cities Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Mattson says the chamber is confident a new aquatic center will draw even more visitors from outside the area and will likely promote even more growth in west Pasco.
The Pasco Chamber of Commerce has also come out in support of the aquatic center.
