PASCO, Wash. -- A scary moment for one driver Monday when his motor home caught fire on Interstate 182 in West Pasco.
Around 5:15 Monday evening, Pasco Fire got a call about a commercial vehicle fire on I-182 eastbound near the Road 68 exit.
The fire closed the eastbound lanes while firefighters put out the blaze.
"The crews that were responding initially reported they had heavy black smoke showing, so they upgraded the alarm, got a couple of engine companies rolling on this. The first crew arrived on the scene reporting they had a fully involved motor home with extension into the grass field," said Pasco Fire Battalion Chief Dave Hare.
The grass fire was put out quickly, only burning about a quarter of an acre.
The man driving the motor home was not hurt.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
