-Thousands of cities, around the world, are planning to participate in a
global Taiji and Qigong Day. The event is designed to educate the public
about the two practices.
Nearly 70 countries will take part in
the event. In the United States, there are more than 1,065 cities with
registered events planned.
Taiji is an internal Chinese martial
art, while qugong focuses on posture and breathing. Practicing the
techniques can be beneficial to one's health.
"There's been a lot
of research done on many different diseases--Parkinson's, fibromyalgia--
and they all have a positive response to taiji and quigong," said
Kraig Stephens, the founder of Old Warrior Horse Kung Fu Academy.
