PASCO, Wash. - Coming up in December, Pasco Recreation Services is holding the 34th Annual Lampson Cable Bridge Run.
The event will be on Saturday, December 15th, starting at Neil F. Lampson Office Building, 607 E Columbia Drive (Kennewick side of the Cable Bridge). It's a community 1 mile, 5k and 10k fun run, all starting at 9 AM, with Santa Claus signaling the start.
The first 2,500 registrants will receive long-sleeved technical running shirts. This shirt is sublimated, so fabric is dyed, not screenprinted, giving it has a cool, breathable design. All other registrants will receive either a
technical or a screenprinted longsleeved shirt.
There will be beverages, including the traditional Hot Dr. Pepper, and random door-prize drawings. If you wish to purchase alcohol at the event, you must provide an acceptable form of ID after the race.
Overall winners will receive gift certificates, and the first six finishers in each division will get ribbons. The race divisions are as follows: 1. 12 years & under 2. 13-19 years 3. 20-29 years 4. 30-39 years 5. 40-49 years 6. 50-59 years 7. 60-69 years 8. 70-79 years 9. 80 years & older 10. Wheelchair
Registration is going on now through December 12th. The cost is $18 with a shirt, $13 without a shirt. Late registration is after December 10th -- if you register after that day, the fee increases by $10. To register, call Pasco Recreation Services at (509) 545-3456. There will be no registration the day of the race.
All runners can use chip timing, but the chip must be returned at the end of the race to avoid a $25 replacement fee. Runners also are not allowed to run though more than one finish line.
You can pick up informational packets and timing chips on Friday, December 14 from 12:00-7:00 PM
and Saturday, December 15 7:00-8:30 am at Neil F. Lampson Office Building, 607 E Columbia Drive.
There will be no parking at the start of the race, instead participants can park at GESA Stadium (6200 Burden Blvd., Pasco, WA) and Ben Franklin Transit buses will shuttle participants to the start. After the race at the 5K/10K finish, shuttles will take participants back to GESA stadium.
Shuttles from GESA to the Starting Line: Begin at 6:00 AM; the last shuttle leaves at 8:00 AM Shuttles from Finish Line to GESA Stadium: Begin at 10:00 am; the last shuttle leaves at NOON.
