HERMISTON, Ore. - Expansion plans at Hermiston's DuPont Pioneer Plant will mean more jobs for the area.
The expansion will help the pre-commercial hybrid seed corn facility meet the growing demand for its products... And bring in 18 new jobs with salaries starting at 50-thousand dollars a year.
The facility has already started the ground work on the first of two phases of construction and is expected to be completed in 2014.
"We'll need more acres, more growers, more trucks. We'll need more employees and seasonal people. It's just a trickle down affect. We'll just need a bigger infrastructure to grow what we're going to need to grow here," said DuPont Pioneer Global Production Director, Bill Tomlinson.
DuPont Pioneer grows products in Hermiston that serve all of North America and other markets around the globe.
