HERMISTON, Ore.-- The Kennison Field renovation project at Hermiston High School is on track and promises to be one of the nicest sports fields in Oregon.
The six acre facility will include the same high end turf used in the Dallas Cowboys stadium, a shock absorbing mat under the field to reduce injuries and concussions, and a five story building for concessions, the booster club and a press box.
"We feel that this is one of the most comprehensive facilities in Oregon. It's left no rock unturned. It'll have some of the safest, most logical design and layout for students and community participants," said Wade Smith, Project Manager, Hermiston School District.
The project is on schedule to be completed by the end of July.
The school plans to have a grand opening ceremony in early August to show off the $4 million athletic facility.
