PROSSER, Wash. - Firefighters are continuing to battle a brush fire in Prosser that sparked around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Firefighters tell NBC Right Now there's about 60 firefighters battling the 200 acre blaze.
No homes have been destroyed yet, mostly due to proper green belt protection. Firefighters say neighborhoods around the fire have been evacuated. However, they say people may be able to return home Tuesday afternoon if all goes as planned.
The fire is currently 0 percent contained.
PROSSER, Wash. - Firefighters from several departments are on scene of a natural cover fire near Kelandren Drive and the Montecito Estates in north Prosser.
Dispatchers told firefighters the fire may be threatening homes in the area.
The state Department of Transportation says SR 22 from Market Street to Richards Road is closed due to the fire.
