RICHLAND, Wash.-- Sunday's winds made for some great kite flying weather.
The annual Ben Franklin Kite Society kite festival brought families out to Columibia Point Marina in Richland for some high-flying fun.
The strong winds made the kite flying a bit more challenging, but people of all ages enjoyed the event.
"We just all came out as a family to look at all the kites. My son, he likes to look at them thinking that they're airplanes. Turns out he started flying his own little kite," said Tania Gomez.
Some of the society members weren't able to make it out to the event Sunday, but still some local families braved the strong winds for some Sunday fun.
