RICHLAND, Wash. - The Dairy Farmers of Washington are teaming up with Second Harvest in Richland tomorrow.
They're holding a food and cash drive at the Richland Fred Meyer. Everyone who makes a donation gets a reusable grocery bag and recipe book. One random bag has a $100 gift card that can be used or donated back. Second Harvest officials say they're excited to have the Dairy Farmers on board.
"The Dairy Farmers of Washington, we're very thankful, they are doing a lot of work to get this in front of the community. The fact is 1 in 7 adults and 1 in 4 children are either hungry or at risk of hunger."
The drive is from 11 AM to 3-PM at the Richland Fred Meyer. If you'd like to make donations Second Harvest says they are looking for shelf sustainable foods, like mac-and-cheese or canned tuna.
