PASCO, Wash. - A woman is recovering from her injuries after a three car accident in Pasco.
Law enforcement officers say it happened around 5:45 Tuesday at 10th and Lewis St. in Pasco.
Firefighters cut open the roof of the woman's car to get her out of the driver side, where she was stuck against the pavement because her car flipped.
Pasco Fire Department says cutting open the car was the safest way to remove the driver and protect her spine.
"So we have to take you out in a very careful position so we don't exacerbate those injuries, make them worse. That was the reason for opening up the top. It gave us the best access to the patient to remove her," said Pasco Fire Dept. Captain Ken Meyers.
Medics transported the woman to Kadlec Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. No other people were injured.
Officers are not sure what caused the accident.
