CONNELL, Wash. -- Connell's mayor pro tem remains in the Franklin County as of Tuesday night.
Monica Pruett was arrested Sunday as detectives investigate accusations of theft and money laundering.
Pruett is accused of stealing around $160,000 dollars from a Mesa farm.
Pruett is well known in the town. In addition to serving on the city council, she also owns an accounting business.
" I think most of the people in town like Monica, she grew up here, she been here her whole life," explains Connell businessman Ron Brandner.
Pruett sits in county jail on a $5,000 bond.
The county prosecutor is expected to file charges for first degree theft and money laundering on Wednesday.
