KENNEWICK, Wash. - It was a beautiful day down at Columbia Park on Thursday as people were gearing up for the Water Follies.
Spectators saw the planes doing practice rounds and it was quite the show. Fans get something of a free pass to the event Thursday and Friday. With no ticket necessary, people are free to go into the pits, talk with the teams and get up close to the boats.
"We come down on Thursdays because there's no one down here, no crowd and no restrictions, really. So you can walk around and get up close to the boats. I grew up in the Tri-Cities area so I grew up around these boats. I wanted to pass that on to my children so they could see it and have the same experiences I had."
