PASCO, Wash. - Dozens of dentists, hygienists and volunteers will be on hand Saturday providing dental care to children who can't afford treatment.
The service is for children ages, 1-14 and includes a full exam, x-rays, teeth cleaning and fluoride treatment. Similar services have been offered in the Tri-Cities for more than 20 years.
Organizers say the goal is to get kids in the dentist's chair at an early age.
"If a child needs some additional care, we'd like to catch it soon rather than have it be a problem, that could be of serious consequences to the family in the future," says Dr. Larry Loveridge, D. M.D.
The free service is a joint effort between Advanced Pediatric Dentistry, Benton Franklin Health District and several community partners.
