KENNEWICK, Wash.-- The Benton Franklin Fair and Rodeo Parade Saturday had a huge turnout and event organizers say they think it was the biggest yet. It also had the most parade participants with nearly two hundred entries.
Parade participants have to follow rules of acting appropriately during the event. But, a viewer says they saw inappropriate behavior.
Parade organizers say they check the participants before hand and give them guidelines on parade etiquette.
"We have people that do about fifteen to twenty parades a summer so we're real familiar with a lot of the traveling groups that go to all the parades as well. Some people have different opinions but we keep an eye on things," says Lori Lancaster, manager of the Benton Franklin Fair and Rodeo.
Parade participants cannot drink alcohol or swear during the event. Parade employees remove participants who aren't following the rules when they see them.
