WEST RICHLAND, Wash.- There was plenty of horsing around Friday in West Richland.
Every year for the past 18 years Arc of Tri-Cities and CH2MHill host the Partners ‘N Pals Horseback Riding Day Camp, where children with special needs can a ride a horse.
"We plan and sweat and bleed for it all year long," says organizer Mike Jennings. "The smiles are all worth it. It makes your heart alive until next year."
Nearly 300 volunteers throughout the community greeted the children when they arrived at Richland Riders Club, which had been converted into a party atmosphere complete with carnival games and areas where children could pet ponies, turtles, and other small animals.
About 150 children strapped on helmets for rides.
